This project involved the comprehensive construction of a new accessibility ramp, designed to meet modern accessibility standards and provide safe, reliable access for all users. The project included demolition, soil testing, concrete work, and the installation of steel railings.
The project began with the demolition of the existing ramp and removal of debris, followed by soil testing and an engineering assessment for foundation stability.
Footings with rebar were poured using 30MPa concrete, while ramp walls and stairs were reinforced with 15mm rebar and poured with 35MPa concrete.
Granular A material was used for backfilling under the ramp slab, and additional rebar was installed in the ramp, stairs, and landings. A 4-inch slab and sidewalk were reinforced and finished with a broom texture for slip resistance.
Steel railings were fabricated, galvanized, and installed to complete the project.
The new accessibility ramp provides a durable, safe, and aesthetically pleasing solution for improved access. The project was completed with attention to detail, ensuring compliance with all relevant accessibility standards and regulations.
