Removal of the existing slab-on-grade and installation of a new reinforced concrete pad, including excavation, soil testing, and structural preparation as per engineering drawings and provincial regulations.
Demolition & Excavation
Slab Removal: Saw-cut and removed existing slab-on-grade (approx. 8" depth); disposed of materials offsite.
Utility Scanning & Soil Testing: Scanned for underground utilities prior to excavation. Completed soil test in compliance with O. Reg. 406/19.
Excavation: Excavated to 4' below the existing slab; soil disposed of offsite.
Concrete Pad Construction
Reinforcement & Formwork: Installed 20M rebar and impregnated fibreboard per Drawing S02. Placed anchor rods.
Concrete Placement: Poured 25 MPa concrete pad with broom finish. Conducted strength test to verify compliance.
The new concrete pad was successfully installed following the removal of the existing slab and excavation to the specified depth. All work adhered to engineering specifications and regulatory requirements, resulting in a structurally sound and durable foundation.
